The Serious Stuff

The early years help establish an important foundation for lifelong health and well-being. Hatice values collaborating with children and families during this formative period. She supports children and youth in participating more fully in meaningful daily activities and family routines.

Hatice holds a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Ottawa. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, with a specialization in Kinesiology and Clinical Exercise Physiology. She is registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and l’Ordre des Ergothérapeutes du Québec. Hatice has experience assessing functional participation in daily activities, including feeding and mealtime routines. She also has experience supporting children’s mental health, emotional regulation, and participation through individualized self-regulation strategies.

Hatice has pursued extensive continuing education in pediatric feeding through the SOS Approach to Feeding program. She has completed the foundational SOS Approach to Feeding course and the 12-week SOS Mentorship Program, which provides advanced, case-based learning and clinical application.

Her additional professional development includes the Cognitive Orientation to daily Occupational Performance (CO-OP) Approach, Handwriting Without Tears, and Module 1 of the CLASI Ayres Sensory Integration program.

Having grown up across different cultures, Hatice values culturally responsive, family-centred care. She provides services in English, French, and Turkish. Outside of work, Hatice enjoys baking, spending time with family and friends, and staying active through Pilates and resistance training.
