The Fun Stuff

Favorite Sports: Katie enjoys playing soccer, weight training, hiking, and skiing.

Favorite Pastimes: Katie loves playing in the park or hiking with her 2 dogs Kira and Oakley, trying out new restaurants/bakeries with friends and family, camping, and exercising!

Favourite Food: sushi 

Fun fact: Katie is the only current redhead in her family.

The Serious Stuff

Katie has completed her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario and her Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Katie grew up in Ottawa and is excited to have recently moved back to join the Play On team to help families reach their goals! 

In Hamilton, Katie volunteered with guiding school-aged kids through workout programs in the gym, which is what initiated her interest in pediatrics. She always knew she wanted to be a physiotherapist, but it wasn’t until she completed a 6 week physiotherapy placement at a Children’s Treatment Centre in Belleville, Ontario that amplified her passion for helping kids and their families achieve what is meaningful to them! Katie is committed to increasing her knowledge in pediatrics through collaborating with other pediatric therapists, personal research, and taking additional educational courses.
