Favorite sport: Dance! Ashley was a competitive dancer for over 10 years 

Favorite pastimes: Ashley loves to cook and bake, go for walks and hikes, and spend time with her friends and family

Fun fact: Ashley has her dual-citizenship. She is Canadian and German

The Serious Stuff

Ashley was born and raised in Ottawa and has always had a passion for working with children. She was a dance instructor for many years and loved helping her students learn and grow in a fun manner. She has also volunteered at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) for over 5 years. Through CHEO, she had the opportunity to help out with a one-week independence camp for teenagers with physical and intellectual disabilities. From that moment, she knew that she wanted to pursue a career in Pediatric Occupational Therapy (OT). She began working at a Pediatric Physiotherapy and OT clinic in Ottawa. She was able to further develop her knowledge and passion for the profession while working as a Client Experience Coordinator and a Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Assistant (PTA/OTA) for over 3 years. Ashley has also had the opportunity to work with a team of Athletic Therapists, Sport Medicine Doctors, and Physiotherapists during her High School CO-OP Placement. 

Ashley obtained her Bachelor in Health Sciences with a minor in Psychology from the University of Ottawa, in 2022. She completed her degree in French and was placed on the Dean’s Honor List for 3 consecutive years. She has recently been accepted into the Master of Health Sciences in Occupational Therapy program at the University of Ottawa and is set to begin in the Fall of 2022. 

Ashley is thrilled to join the Play On Pediatric team and can’t wait to help her clients grow and achieve their goals. She is excited to collaborate with her team and expand her knowledge.
