The Serious Stuff

Michaela was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. Since a young age, she has been passionate about working with children with disabilities. Michaela has worked with children, youth, and adults with disabilities in various settings. After graduating high school, Michaela moved to Nova Scotia to attend Acadia University and obtained a Bachelors of Kinesiology with a minor in Psychology. Throughout her 4 years of university, she volunteered with Acadia’s renowned S.M.I.L.E. program which offered programs to youth, children, and adults with disabilities to encourage physical activity.

Michaela is a recent graduate from the Autism and Behavioural Science graduate certification program at Algonquin College. During her studies, she also was working with children with Autism doing one-on-one ABA therapy as an instructor therapist. Acquiring the education and gaining more knowledge about ASD has encouraged her to follow her passion for working with children as a profession.

Michaela is very excited to expand her knowledge while working at Play on Pediatric Therapy and help the clients achieve their goals.
